Shooting in a second floor hallway near a science classroom at Edward Tilden High School, a dispute over the winnings of a dice game led to Delondyn Lawson's death, even though he wasn't involved in the dispute, just in the right place at the wrong time. Joe White, 15, and another student were arguing about the payoff when one of the students punched Joe in the mouth. Joe pulled out a .22-caliber handgun and opened fire on the group. Delondyn, 15, was shot twice in the back and two more classmates, 17-year-old Wilson Ching and 15-year-old Barron Hall were wounded. In the flight to flee the scene, a third student was hit by a car and also taken to the hospital. Joe was arrested a short time later.
